#Day25 More sea and excited!

Kiel to Eckenforde – 30km
24C
Terrain: flat cycle paths and road

After the first 7km today which were spent getting out Kiel, I was back in the countryside.

Kiel is probably the largest place I’ve been through so far, I think the diameter I crossed must have been approximately 11km so not small and actually, on the way out, there appeared to be some quite nice residential areas with old architecture, in sharp contract to the centre where I was yesterday.

Back to the countryside, at one point I went past a field of some type of crop/plant which was stunning (apologies for botanical ignorance). Water droplets shimmering in the sunlight, like a field of diamonds. Tried to catch it on camera but failed epically, this is the best I could do.

Really like the sunflower-lined crops here, always make me (and Bob) smile.

Eckernforde is another lovely little coastal town with a beach and lovely quaint streets. Had a little wander…

One of the things I have been looking to do over the past few days is have a proper sports massage to ease my aching limbs. One piece of advice I was given before I started was to try to have one about once a month so I can only oblige!

No luck so far with finding phsiotherapists that have any availability so today I thought a general massage would do the trick. To cut a long story short, it ended up being with a chap and just felt uncomfortable for most of it! Arrrgghhh. Wasn’t quite what I was looking for but one positive is that I was only charged for 1 hour when the massage was actually 1h45, bonus!

Other than that, I’m very excited! All going well, I should be in Flensburg in a couple of days. I was due to stay with family (Peter is my mum’s cousin, not sure what that makes him to me but will call him Uncle Peter) so I let Uncle Peter know when I’d be there, so looking forward to spending time with people and having a few days to relax!

Peter then calls back and offers to come and pick me up tomorrow where I end up and then drive me to the same point on Sunday to finish off, so so very kind and I’m really excited! Family is wonderful and amazing. Thank you Peter!
