#Day64 So touched

Thorembais Saint-Trond to Charleroi airport (NOT GOING ANYWHERE!) – 31km
24C
Terrain: busy roads

I am just blown away by the kind people that I’m coming across on this journey.

Sandrine and Olivier Ghellinck who run the B&B I stayed at last night told me this morning that they wouldn’t accept payment and instead for the money to go to the Red Cross. Insisting, I was flatly refused. I honestly felt so touched and even a little bit emotional. I had such a wonderful time with their family. Merci la Famille Ghellinck!

Their B&B is a wonderful place to stay. I would definitely recommend that anyone passing through Belgium to the south of Brussels (approximately 40km away) stay there. The website is: http://www.manoir-de-thorembais.be.

I don’t usually stay in places as nice as this, that’s for sure!

In terms of today, as expected I was pretty much on the cycle lane/hard shoulder the whole time. It’s amazing how much more tiring it is, especially keeping Bob on the straight and narrow. Day-dreaming isn’t an option with lorries hurtling towards you!

I have to say though, the weather is absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure how long it’s going to last but for now it’s wonderful.
