#Day74 Amazing day! Half way and home!

Le Bourget to Croissy sur Seine (via Paris) – 32km
20C
Terrain: Flat with pavements! I love pavements!

What a truly amazing day! I’m sitting in my parents’ living room and I am just so so so happy.

About half way now, over 1,660km, the equivalent to over 39 marathons on my skinny little pins.

Pavement all the way today so I was able to relax and I even ditched Bob for most of the route today (sorry Bob) and ran free! AMAZING!!!!

Left nice and early from Le Bourget to head towards the Place de la Concorde in Paris to meet my Mum and take a few photos of Bob and I. Just amazing to run past all of the iconic Paris landmarks that I grew up with, thinking about how far I’ve come, reflecting on my experiences so far, the cause I am running for and just smiling all the way.

I actually started this journey in Paris as it was from here that I flew to Berlin and then drove to Unieradz (where I started) with my Mum in July. So it feels like I’ve come full circle.

After our mini photo-shoot on the Place de la Concorde, I took the opportunity to fall flat on my face in front of a group of people at the bottom of the Champs Elysees, classy! Nothing changes! Without Bob to support me, I clearly can’t manage by myself!

Meanwhile Bob was in pieces (literally and emotionally) having been ditched for the day, poor Bob.

So after giggling to myself and dusting myself off, I was off to my old School, the British School of Paris, on the outskirts of Paris (Croissy sur Seine).

The last stretch was simply beautiful, just running along the river Seine in the sunshine and no cars in sight.

Once reunited with Bob a few hundred meters from the school, some of the students joined me for the final straight, organised by the wonderful Giles Bates (Head of Year 12) and also joined by the new school headmaster Nicholas Hammond, a real privilege.

The students provided constant chatter and were firing really interesting and insightful questions at me, so so much enthusiasm! Very contagious and inspiring in itself.

With Giles Bates and Nicholas Hammond.

Thank you Janet Curtis for the amazing photos!

I was then being asked to pose for photos with the students, felt like a bit of a celebrity for a moment!

I can’t thank the school enough for its support along with all of my absolutely amazing and wonderful family and friends!

Being able to do this is such a privilege and I am beyond grateful for everything I have experienced so far.

A few days break (including a couple of talks to the students at the school next week) and then back on the road.

Me and my Mum.
