#Day96 Melle and an idea

Rest day!
26C

Fabulously sunny weather for my rest day, beautiful.

Following my short video yesterday, I wanted to float an idea. If anyone has any questions they would be interested in knowing the answers to, please don’t hesitate to post them on this blog or contact me another way (twitter, facebook, email).

I’m thinking of maybe posting more short videos answering questions that I often get asked. It made me giggle and kept me amused for a bit so…

On a different note, I’m having a lovely time here. I did go to the cinema in the end last night (treat to me!) to watch a film called SAMBA.

A French film with Omar Sy (from Les Intouchables – one of the best films I have ever seen) and Charlotte Gainsbourg as the starring roles. Essentially a love story between an illegal immigrant from Senegal and a social worker (kind of). It’s beautifully told with lots of warm laughter and some really touching moments. I would definitely recommend it.

I went for a lovely (very slow) walk. While Melle isn’t very big at all, the town has carried out a lot of work creating spaces where nature is felt to its own devices as well as looking after hiking/walking routes. I personally think it’s pretty impressive.

I’m also staying in a lovely B&B run by Christiane and Daniel Cornuau. A lovely retired couple who kindly invited me to have lunch with them today (apparently, the first time this has happened, I felt very touched). Plenty of very interesting conversation about not letting fear stop you (they have undertaken many pretty impressive projects including this B&B which was an absolute ruin when they bought it and is now beautiful). I think they’re actually both as, if not more, busy now than when they were working. From running the B&B to cooking to Nordic walking to learning how to weave straw! I don’t think there’s ever a dull moment.

If anyone ever passes by Melle, here are their details: http://www.lesrempartsdeleglise.fr/index.html.

Tomorrow is I think the longest stretch before hopefully arriving in Bordeaux next weekend but hopefully the legs will be nice and fresh.
