I met my mum and my friend Jo in Bordeaux today, so so happy!
It’s so special that they have come to see me and I’m really looking forward to a couple of rest days exploring Bordeaux with them. Yippee. None of us have ever been here so it’ll be lovely to discover together and from what I’ve seen so far, it‘s a gorgeous place.
The light show continued this morning. Happy days.
Before leaving Margaux this morning, I wanted to go to the very famous Chateau Margaux (a very prestigious and also pretty expensive wine) so that I could take a picture, maybe even a selfie, for my Dad. Interestingly it’s very non descript. Whereas the majority of vineyards have panels indicating where they are to attract visitors and buyers, not for Chateau Margaux. The only indication that I was in the right place was this parking sign!
I guess the wine has such a prestigious name, they don’t want or need to attract much attention.
Then I was off on my way to Bordeaux. It actually wasn’t too pleasant a route today, I couldn’t really avoid the busy roads so had to just keep going, making sure to be careful.
Then I reached Bordeaux, yay! As usual when I arrive in larger cities, their beauty is often revealed later.
Don’t think this is the Unesco heritage bit!

Arriving in the centre, Mum and Jo had just arrived also so lots of happy hugs and hellos (pic by Jo Skoulikas).
