#Day150 Lost for words

Yecla to Pinoso – 30km
9C (-1C to start!)
Terrain: roads

Wow, 150 days, who’d have thought. Not all on the move (includes rest days) but that’s how long this challenge has been going so far. I still can’t believe I’m actually doing it some days, it’s so far removed from anything I’ve done previously but I’m so so glad that I took that leap all the way back in July.

I saw this today, it couldn’t be more applicable to the way I feel (today and every day).

I am lost for words at the support I am receiving from my friends and family and people I have never met. Today, a lovely friend, Sorrell Walsh, from my running crew in London (Run Dem Crew) posted this on her blog about my challenge.

It was completely unexpected and quite emotional to read as she has captured things perfectly.

By the way, this girl is incredibly inspirational herself, she even placed 1st lady in a 100 kilometer race this year, yes 100km in one go! Boom!

Sorrell mentioned my Gran as my inspiration. I think about my Gran a lot doing this challenge, her amazing warmth and courage. If I can be even half of the person that she was, I will be a lucky woman.

She went through so much as a refugee (difficult to even comprehend) as so many sadly do today but she was just so full of love and kindness. I miss her but I draw strength from her also. I hope she is able to see this from somewhere as I wouldn’t be here without her amazing inspiration. It’s just so sad that there are still so many refugees today.

All I can say is thank you everyone for the phenomenal support, I can’t wait to see you all again (relatively) soon!

In fact, today was easier than the past few days, phew! The beautiful blue sky was back and the wind has taken a holiday so despite starting in -1C, it warmed up and I was soon taking my coat off.

Still a little chilly but smiling today.

Surrounded by beauty the whole way I was able to appreciate things more today, in a better space mentally and physically. One thing I did notice (should have noticed yesterday), no more orange trees! Still olive trees though and lots of vineyards.

I was a little concerned I was heading over the mountain in the distance, not the case in the end, phew!

Feeling very grateful.

Big love to everyone (from a vineyard in Spain!).
